Mahin Huschmand was born in Tehran. She earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Archeology and Art from the University of Tehran, and for fifteen years served in the Protocol of the Imperial Court of Iran — ultimately rising to Vice General Director of the Secretariat. Her service was decorated by multiple heads of state and honored in her homeland with the Tadj Grade 4.
After the 1979 revolution, she immigrated to Germany and turned her lifelong appreciation for art and aesthetics toward the exacting European tradition of clinical skincare. She trained at a German dermatology clinic — a school where posture, pressure, and patience are not decorative, and the hands are precise.
In 1990 she moved to Washington, D.C., and for twenty-five years owned and operated her own highly sought-after day spa in Bethesda, Maryland. She carried the discipline of Germany with her — and something else, too: a Persian heritage of warmth, ritual, and hospitality. Rosewater and saffron. Tea served on arrival. An unhurried welcome. A belief that the way you receive someone is part of the treatment.
Over forty years she has built her practice across two continents and two American cities — Miami and Washington, DC. Clients have followed her from country to country, from decade to decade. Some brought their daughters. Some brought their granddaughters.
She was married to Engineer Parviz Huschmand for forty-seven years, until his passing in July of 2022. Together they raised their daughter Sogol and son Iman, and today Mahin is grandmother to Dorsa and Parsa. It is out of that lifetime of marital joy that she also serves as a revered Persian wedding officiant, having presided over more than 250 ceremonies.
